Hi! First time here. Excited to get some feedback. :)

Tech Specs
Nikon D5100/w AF-S DX NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G
1/640, F1.8, ISO 100

Lighting
Golden hour-ish. Don't remember exactly when these shots were taken.

Basically, I was going for a classic b/w feel, while trying to explore themes of vulnerability and softness.

I'm overall pleased with how they turned out, but I always feel like my photos lack a certain kind of polish or finesse. I tend to generally turn down the contrast to give my photos a softer feel, but sometimes I feel like that doesn't come across as intentional.

Would be grateful for any kind of feedback really.

Feedback:

Up the contrast just a bit.

On the pic where she ISN'T smiling, a more contrasty look to set a mood. Either neutral or simi-dark.

I would also think about a bit more lighting to help highlight.

These are tricks I too am still learning.

Hi!

#1; Interesting lighting, but your model's face is not in it.
#2; Try some flash. Use found light or add light.
#3; Rotating the frame doesn't add anything significant to the shot.

One little nitpick for the third: straighten it to match the weave of the rug below her head. The set as a whole isn't too bad :)

Nice set and I like the style. The 2nd one I would sharpen the eye to match the sharpness of the sweater. The third on maybe a crop to the top and bottom. Just below her hands and crop out the empty rug space.
