Finally got one of my hot friends to come over and let me practice.

Any feedback welcome.

Didn't go too creative with theme or anything. Just getting a feel for some dramatic lighting with the Alien Bee's.

I don't have any criticism, cause you're much better than I am. But, I did want to say I like them.

The only thing I dislike is her lipstick. But that's not you, that's her. You did, IMO a really good job.

i'm just a beginner but the third pic caught my attention with here eyes (well, eye). I like how how here pretty blue eye lurks out from the shadow of her brow.

I like all of them except the second. I'm not digging the frizzed out hair and the expression on her face. She looks too posed which is a shame because she looks pretty natural in all the others.

I would probably go back to basics a bit. Start by chilling out with the angles. Ease up on the saturation- it's makes them look a bit 80's. And don't try to go for an "edgy" look in headshot framing.

I think these are pretty kickass.

#1 - Love the composition, expression, and tonality. Easily my favorite.
#2 - Good job again on the lighting, and I really like the expression

3 and 4 are alright. I'm not sure whether the rembrandt lighting is the most flattering for #4, it does go some way toward creating a sinister mood but it doesn't sit quite right with me. No real complaints, though, keep up the good work.

terrible habbit for me is tilting the camera to the side. noticed it with this set and a wedding i just did. been trying to combat the urge since.

lighting = on strobe with an umbrella. the one with the frizzy hair had another strobe for hair light, but you can't really tell in that shot.

also thanks for the compliments. this is basically the first shoot with the new lights. can't wait to dig in with more.
