My nephew was in the LLWS this summer in Dallas, TX and here a few pics I took and edited with PS. My camera is in my sig, its nothing fancy just a digital camera. Comments are welcome I can take it.

you have put up truly tiny images and no one can look at these and say anything sensible beyond the fact that selective color is rarely a positive element.

Ok, in all seriousness, the small image size here does make it pretty difficult to give a proper C&C. I wouldn't advise converting part of the photo to black and white and leaving part of it color, as Lew correctly pointed out this is rarely if ever a pleasing visual effect for most. Just from what I can see here it looks like you've got some exposure/metering issues - it's difficult to be certain given the image size.

Your last shot looks like you might have some depth of field problems as well. If you can maybe post a larger image, preferably something that hasn't been so heavily post processed, I might be able to give you a little more in the way of C&C

I'm not a fan of the one color on a black and white.
I like the last shot purely because it looks like it could be from the 70s.

They were all done without a tripod unfortunately I have the originals in bigger sizes I can post. I'm looking for ways to improve the pictures I take. What do you mean by metering issues? Whats a good size to post pictures on here? I usually shrink my down from the original size.

Well it's really hard to tell from the black and white small photos above, but it looks like the camera may have been set so it's adjusting for the light in one area of the photograph when really the point of interest (such as the little boy standing at the plate) is in another area, which causes him to be underexposed. It is really difficult to tell though with the pics posted, hopefully we can give you better feedback with some larger, less edited (as in preferably still color at least to start with) examples.

Ok, so in image number one you have some Depth of field/focus issues. Notice how the area of the picture that looks sharp and in focus is actually between the two closest baseball players and how most of the players are blurry and out of focus? When your taking a picture like this one where you have several different items of interest that are at different distances from you, if you want them all to be in focus, you need to increase your depth of field - and you can do that by decreasing the aperture of your lens. The higher the number, the more depth of field you'll get and the further apart the objects can be and still remain in focus. However the higher the aperture is set the less light it lets into the lens, so the slower your shutter speed or the higher your ISO needs to be in order to compensate in order to give you a properly exposed image.

The second image isn't too bad, but the first thing I see is that you have some composition issues here - notice how much you have in the foreground? The railing, several trees at various focal lengths, etc. Since your primary object of interest here is the building, ask yourself, do all of those objects in the foreground really add to your shot? Or do they distract? In this case I think you'll agree they distract. So moving up to where the railing is out of the frame, maybe between the two closest trees - would give you a much better view without so much distraction in the foreground. Looks like you've also got some DOF (Depth of field) issues here, the front part of the building seems sharper than the areas that are further away.

Also on this image it looks like we have some exposure issues - the colors seem rather bland and washed out. As I recall you have photoshop, you might want to consider using the levels feature to darken the image a bit, and then up the contrast slightly. I'm sure some of the other folks will probably have a lot of additional tips and observations, but that's probably a good place to start.

Important thing is, keep shooting. In the final analysis if you like your pictures, that's all that really matters.
