What's new

Battery grip??

No... it allows you to shoot in portrait orientation using the same body stance you do when shooting in landscape.

Oh thats good to know. I just looked at some on BHphoto... i didn't know they had the shutter buttons also?

Some have more than that. My D7000 grip has front & rear command dials, multi-selector switch and AE-L / AF-L button. In a pinch, I can install six AA batteries to keep shooting with.

thanks for sharing a picture. What grip is this?

I see a lot of cheap ones on Amazon...even ones for like $15. Is this something i should stay away from?

I like grips because I have bigger hands (on not huge but not small), and except for the "pro" bodies, they are normally pretty small and a grip adds just that, a better grip to the camera. Although on my 7D its not bad, but its pretty bad on my smaller XTi.

Huh, I haven't seen anyone mention this yet, but it fits in my hand better with a grip... Without the grip my ring & pinky finger fall off the bottom of my camera. It also is much better balanced when I'm using my 70-200 2.8 or 300 2.8

Sparky does your battery grip require a cord for it to work?

Nope. I don't think there's many that do. A camera that accepts a grip will typically have electrical connections which are pretty much 'automatic' when the grip is installed.

I got the same grip as Sparky. The mailman dropped it off yesterday. :D

With those eBay grips... Didn't I read somewhere that one of the control wheels is reversed?

Yep, both are reversed on mine. They got the consistency down, just the wrong way.
