and by best, i mean cheapest.

I found it a few places at about $98... just wondering if there is somewhere cheaper that i didn't find.

Thanks.

If you can get a student discount of any kind (or government, military, teaching, etc...) you can get it for the same price from Adobe. It would be advantageous since you can always download stuff from Adobe in the future.

Thanks. I was just looking again...and i'm seeing it for like $300. I didn't realize there were so many versions of it. I guess i actually want the $300 one then. Dang, that's so expensive!!

Are you a student or do you have students in your household?

Damn it. I need to become a student! CS5 Ext for $199?!?!? That insane!

I wish they would give legitimate professional a deal, even if not quite a good one. But i guess it's easier to validate if someone is a student, than it is if someone is a legit pro...

Well, they do with their upgrade pricing structure.

You should only need to take a single class at the local junior college to get a student ID, qualifying you for student pricing.

What's the difference between student and the retail reg one? Just a discount basically? nothing different between programs?

I'm not a student... i am however taking online photography + business classes starting this month. So, i guess that'd be considered a student?

Thanks.

Not a thing different between the versions. Just a price difference.

Since I started school I have taken advantage of it lol its great.

I doubt it. To verify your student status you have to fax Adobe a copy of a student ID.

Are you taking online classes from an accredited school? This is becoming more and more common, so if it's an accredited school, I would contact Adobe and see what they say.

In previous versions there was a difference but in the latest they're exactly the same.

As long as you have a student ID with a date on it (or you can...ahem...add a date to it in post) it counts for the discount. If you don't, they ask for a class schedule with payment on it.
