Breaking in the new DSLR; Best Photos from First Night

Hi everyone,

I just picked up my first DSLR (Nikon D3300 and was using the 18-55mm lense.) I was mostly playing around with the camera and trying to figure it out. I learned how to get sharper images with it after I got back (and realized that many of the good-looking photos in my viewfinder were not so good looking on the PC.) But, out of the lot, I posted a few that were the best here:

Let me know what you think of the first few photos using a DSLR. I hope to make better images in the following days.

You may want to post a few photos here
people generally don't like to go off the forum to look at pictures to give any critique.

When I tried .. I just got a few popups/overlays that wanted me to share and other stuff, so I didn't see anything.

I'm not sure why there would be any popups or anything. I have now just inserted the images into the post, so hopefully that cures any problems.

We need one of these signs in our neighborhood, people are always missing the exit lol

Anyhow, the only thing I can think of at the movement is maybe trying a bigger F-stop like F/16-22 to hep causing more defined staring in the street lights.

Thanks for the advice! I will give that a try. I would definitely like to revisit these locations to re-shoot the photos, to bring out more clarity and vividness. I may be investing in a tripod sooner than I anticipated I think the starburst effect would help the image and I'll try to capture that.
