Which kind of outdoor light do you prefer and why?

Both -- it would be terrible to lose either one. Now if we could switch them as needed.

sunny.. Ill even take sunny at noon over overcast. I just don't like white sky on my photos.

I prefer overcast, I'm surprised anyone would prefer bright and sunny for photos.

That's like asking us to choose between Jack and Coke...one is not very good without the other...

There's more than you think.

Yep. I prefer bright sunny day because it's much more difficult to get good results so most of my shoots are with the sun behind the subject(s). It's a good way to challenge yourself and testing the limits of your equipment. The D7000 is suppose to struggle in bright environment, but from my personal experience, I disagree.

In terms of certain types of documentary; "capture"; "finding" - then any and all. If i'm free to walk around and film how and what i wish. But it will alter what i go for, whether i 'visualize' the resulting images in colors or b&w, grain or fine; or a mixed-series of both.

I prefer sunny as well... hopefully there is some shade near by.

well.. let me rephrase my answer. I prefer sunny if I can control the subject, overcast if I cant control the subject. What best is if I cant control the subject and the sun is just perfect :).

I like both of those together and both of those separate. What does that say about me?

It says that comparing light which can't be combined, with drinks that can doesn't make for a good analogy.

i like both, if i had to choose one or the other under uncontrolled subject matter i'd probably say overcast.
