Went out with the wife today hoping to get some herons I saw a couple of days ago, and this little guy pretty much came right up to us.

They aren't easy to photograph, well, not the ones near us, but that's beautiful.

Usually not easy here either. I got lucky and I don't think he knew we were there until he stepped out of the sage line. Kinda froze up like a deer in headlights and I was able to shoot him from about 8 feet or so. Tried to get down on my belly and thats when he bolted.
