Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
Took a trip to city park last week. Just wondering what you guys think of my photos.
Let me know what I can do to improve.

Any tips and advice is much appreciated.

Idk how to show exif data or whatnot. Just know that these were all taken with a T3i and the standard 18-55mm kit lens.

Thanks!

There are three parts to the picture.

Subject. Foreground. Background.

We "usually" get the subject in focus, more or less properly exposed, and more or less properly positioned in the frame.

But we forget the backgound. And the foreground. Because they're kinda there, but we're not focusing on it/them. And that is a mistake, because the wrong background and/or foreground can kill the image. Ok. maybe "kill" is too strong a word. But if the background is something you notice right after you see the subject, then it is competing with your subject, and that's not good. Your "wingman" is supposed to be your support, not your competition.

So...

#1 - too much stuff going on in the background. It's like listening to a clarinet in the middle of a metal factory. The sweet notes are totally drowned out.

#2 - really beautiful flowers, and .... too much background. Need to either crop or use a really wide aperture and selective focus to get us to forget everything else other than the flowers.

#3 - flower is overexposed and bee is too small. You got to figure out how to fill the frame with those two.

$4 - interesting. Reminds me of some of the threads on TPF.

Thanks for the tips. Just the kind of criticism I was looking for. Before I didn't see any of the things being mentioned. Now it's just like it hit me. It's so obvious now.

I really wasn't paying attention to selective focusing that day. And I was shooting with a smaller aperture most of the time.

And sorry for posting this in the wrong section Mods. Newbie Here.

The quality of the images is good. These are nice shots actually. But the details are sort of distracting and the position of your subjects are too focused that they have the possibility of being less appreciated. Try to explore on the details of your subjects rather. pgriz said it best. But really, the last one is a nice shot.

Images have great potential.... Rest were well stated by pgriz.....

:D
