Calibration Tools

What system / tools / workflow do you use to calibrate your computer and monitor? What monitor do you find the most accurate? Are there monitors that have built in calibration?

I have a spyder, but I find it very hard to get consistent results. I've calibrated different computers and even different monitors on the same computer and a picture will look completely different on them.

Do you just trust whatever calibration tool you use? Or do you actually print out some sample images to test?

Lots of questions, sorry. This is a very frustrating aspect to me.

I use the Spyder 4 Pro - I find it works very well and the colours I see on my monitor and the prints I get back from the lab are identical. What sort of monitor(s) are you using?

I use what most print labs recommend:

For a computer display - X-Rite CMUNDIS ColorMunki Display (it's a colorimeter)


For computer displays, printers, scanners, projectors - X-Rite CMUNPH ColorMunki Photo (it's a spectrophotometer)
