camera for school

im taking a photography class at school and i need a 35mm camera w/ manual shutter speed, aperture, and focus. im new to the whole buying a camera thing so any info would help a lot, i usually just use my parents camera and go through their rolls of film. :?

I would look at used gear, or if you are planning on maybe starting a system, get a nice basic Nikon or Canon.

Canon AE-1's are nice for the manual route. You can find used ones on ebay with lenses for around $50.
