camera opinions!

i have been using my sister in laws camera she has a nikon d90 and i def like that BUT its too expensive for me, to start with i need recomindations for cheep but still decent camera for photography class... times are hard lol...

What is cheap to you? You've got to give us a budget here. What's cheap to me sure ain't cheap to you, cuz you can get the D90 cheap if you are asking my opinion. So...

Used D90's are pretty cheap around $500ish. You can get a used D100 under $200. Used D70 or D80 around $300.
Used D3000 around $400.
Not sure on Canon prices. Best you can do is check ebay and craigslist in your area.

I don't think your going to be able to find any kind of working DSLR for under $200.

You can't even pick up a current bridge camera for under $200. Sorry!

Go look on E-bay and see what you can find for under $200.00. It will not be a decent DSLR with all working parts, I can promise you that. You can barely get a decent point and shoot for less than $200 bucks. I would save your money for awhile and then start shopping, because this is an expensive hobby.

You can pick up very decent DSLR cameras on ebay for the sort of money you have available. Look at something from Nikon, Canon, Olympus, Pentax, etc., with between 6 and 10 MP. These will suit your budget whilst being more than enough for your course.

Hmmmmm, I looked. Not a single legitimate DSLR under $200 with lens. Quite a few body only and quite a few older bridge cameras.

Then if you are looking at the price try the Nikon P510 it has a lot of the DSLR features but not really a DSLR ...

I looked too. I found a couple of used bodies, that might be kind of questionable, but without lenses. That would be extremely difficult to take a photography course with an outdated and unreliable camera.
