Camera repair

I live in a small city and can't find a camera repair shop with even halfway decent reviews within 100 miles. I have a 5 yr old SONY camera which may need something as simple as a factory reset - or it may be more. How do I find a repair shop - even one I have to ship my camera to - that I can trust?

Most manufacturers have designated repair locations around the country. Here's the link for information on Sony https://us.esupport.sony.com/support/s/service?language=en_US there's also a link on the page for troubleshooting information. The problem you get into is that out of warranty repairs can quickly exceed the value the camera.

I would like to do that myself, but I didn't see the button the SONY website said to use for the reset.
