How do you adjust the exposure compensation of the S95 in manual mode?

I looked in the instructions manual under exposure compensation but it only says you can turn the dial in P mode to change it.

Right now, in manual mode, it does exposure compensation automatically for me and it often underexposes the image severely. I don't know how to control and or stop it.

Perhaps you are thinking about a different kind of manual mode than what we normally think of in the photographic community.

In manual, you have to adjust the shutter speed, ISO, and aperture to get the exposure that you want.

There isn't an exposure compensation in manual mode, unless you are talking about a flash exposure compensation, and it doesn't sound like you are.

Perhaps a copy of Bryan Peterson's Understanding Exposure might clear some things up for you. Either that, or spend some time over at cambridge in color. Camera Exposure: Aperture, ISO & Shutter Speed
