Check this out.

Based only on what I have read, it seems to be in a class of it's own, in the sence that the overall quality is high but the price is low compares to the competition. That and the fact that it is much smaller and lighter than other lenses in it range. Generally tokina has exeptional build quality, and from the one tokina lens that I own(11-16) I can say that I am very satisfied with every aspect of their products so far. Hopeully someone who has the 80-400 can give us a brief review.

It depends on what you want to do with the lense.

I don't have experience with this lense, but I would assume that the focus is a bit slow for birds in flight, but it may be great for stationary objects.

Cheers
