I started a project about oh 8 months ago, with a lovely lady. It ended this past week with her newborn session!

I am pretty much in love with doing these!

CC is appreciated.

Nice sets! The first one, the progression series, is very nicely done and I like it a lot. I am far from any professional, but I know when I see something I like!:) The other two are not bad either... I've seen many lately who try to pull of this kind of shots without getting it right, but I think you did a good job.

Very nice images, thanks for sharing. The first one is a progression I have never seen on the web before (there are, of course, probably hundreds) and the other two are nice baby pics - I like the props and the fact that the images portray an air of relaxation and contentment. I am a "colour" guy, so I would have liked to have seen the first one in colour, but the B&W works okay as well. My 0.02¢ worth.

Cheers,

C&C per req:

1. Well done; as mentioned, this is something I've not seen before either, and I think you've pulled it off well. I would be inclined to bring it back to the pixel room and try and tweak the contrast and exposure just a hair; your key is getting a tad hot toward the end, and the conversion is just a little mid-tone rich at the beginning, but those are minor.

2. Well lit, perfect exposure; good shot. The only niggle I see here is I think it could stand to be cropped a bit image left and bottom to move the child out of the dead centre.

3. I think you needed a fill light high and right here; the detail of the turtle-shell is merging with the carpet and there's a deep shadow that follows the curve around.

Overall, a really nice set Crystal; well done.

Just my $00.02 worth - your mileage may vary.

I love the turtle shell and turtle head hat set--that's cute! Somebody's Etsy store order line is probably jammed!

#1 is amazing. Minor nitpicking aside, that is such an amazing idea.

Nice job Crystal! These are good.

P.S. I may need a similar session but do it yearly to monitor my beer belly.

Love these photos!

Thanks guys! on LOL on the beer belly!

I know they look a tad hot but I found when I print them, if they are not a bit hot on the screen they print gray instead of white and I want her skin white, I guess personal choice. Some would say over exposed all to hell but it isnt, lol I promise! It is just very bright! I am going to print it on metalic paper in a standout from WHCC and it will look nice in the end.

I wish I could have posed the baby better but grandma was there wigging out because I'm squishing him up too much and oh I must be brave to flip him in half like this... really? yes because in the womb he was just all out and open. I am VERY conservative with how I pose my babies, I see some I just want to scream that look very uncomfortable.... so I know what to do. I wanted to tuck his legs up more and fold them under but grandma was like seriously about to get a junk punch from me she was so annoying. sigh.

I think I will ban grandmas from my sessions in the future.

First time I like a maternity picture :) .

What, no conception pics? Slacker.

This is a cool series. I don't know anything about maternity shots but it's a cool idea that was well executed.

Very well done.
