computer monitor super super bright

all of a sudden my monitor is super super bright out of no where.....no settings have been changed at all. I am the only operator on this pc my monitor is a LG 27EA63 and i don't know how to get it back to normal..........any help would be great thanks. I am googling and have restarted pc, unplugged monitor for 30sec and nothing has changed

Do you currently use a monitor profile say through your graphics card setup or through software such as that which come with a monitor calibrator (such as Spyder or Colour Monkey). It might be that whatever profile you've been using has failed to start or has been reset (could have happened if you updated your graphics card drivers)
