Continuing the Mantis Theme (C&C)

I thought I would get a little C&C on a couple shots I took the other night. I can spot a few issues but, please, let me know what you think.

Considering my subject(s) were behind glass, what would have been the best lighting set-up? #2 is horribly over-exposed but I'm not sure what's so harsh about #1. What do you guys recommend for a behind-the-glass/museum type situation?

And, yeah. She got a little frustrated with him and tore off his upper half. It was pretty creepy.
