Hey everyone,
I had an idea the other day after taking a picture...
I would love to propose a picture to The Pabst Brewing Company.
I took this picture of a PBR can the other day, and I thought of a silly little saying to go with it. Personally I think it is genius, and pabst should give me thousands upon thousands of dollars for the rights to use my image and the saying along with it

Any way, I have no idea how I would even present the idea to them. Do you think this is just a stupid idea? Should I just forget about it and not even bother? I'm completely in the dark with this, and I would love any advice from you guys!

So here it is:

Pabst Blue Ribbon. A little magic in every can.

If anyone had noticed, I did post this picture in the "just for fun" gallery, but I didn't get much of a response. I hope no one minds me reposting.

I feel like the image could be a little better. The can seems slightly underexposed. A little soft light would make it bob against a darker background. Consider putting a black backdrop of some kind to make the can stand out more. Nice effect with the stars though! Really cool.
About sending it to the company... I have no idea man. It's worth a try though. IMO get the photo perfect before you send it off.

If you are going to post a product shot like this.. you should think about it a little more.

#1 underexposed.. needs better light

#2 Clean up the background - it is distracting.... use a backdrop or something

#3 Maybe get the WHOLE can in the shot? :)

#4 show more magic.. get creative..levitate that can! Dangle the can from a piece of fishing line that wont show up.. or make a bracket that will hold it off the table an inch or two (with the bracket hidden behind the can)

#5 cute idea... Pabst (or any other company/corporation) has a marketing dept.. you can usually get contact numbers of the 'net. They usually sub out the marketing to agencies that specialize in this type of stuff... you might possibly could contact them, but good luck with that.

#6... maybe try this with a "better" brand of beer? lol! (j/k!)

What Charlie said! Levitate the can? No need to make bracket. Just need to use 2 frames (one with the beer and base, one without anything) on 2 layers and delete the base. Charlie, dont talk **** about PBR!!! :)

Also I think it will be better if the trail of star is curved to the right or left.

You guys are so awesome!
Thanks for all the kind criticism, and new ideas! I'm not sure how to layer photos yet, but I'll try and find out how to do that. I'll post up new pictures, and possibly a different beer :sexywink: haha.

You do need to learn to use layers.. but for a quickie, try this:

Items needed:

coat hanger
one can of beer
one photographer with camera attached

DO this:

Drink beer!
Poke hole in can near the top
Straighten coat hanger and then bend it into an L shape... about a 2/3 to 1/3 ratio
Put the 1/3 ratio length into hole in can
have friend hold the coat hanger and can in the air (will probably help to give friend another beer as bribe)
Photographer shoots can with shallow DOF so coat hanger blends into background... or is easy to clone out!

There ya go.. a levitating can for someone with minimal photoshop skills! ;)

You are my hero.

You don't need a pro shot to present a marketing idea. I'm sure they have a marketing dept. Start there?
