Crab toss with the Sacred kingfisher (6 shots)

Just love watching and trying to get the crab toss in mid air, just a good challenge I guess.

The main food source at one of the places I shoot is crab. Easy to understand why when there is over 500 crabs per sq meter, nope I didn't count them our department of conservation did. I only have ten fingers and ten toes.

1: Catch that crab

2: Right down the throat

3: Side on toss with that darn crab

4: What a big mouth you have

5: This one I call "Scruff". A little rough look about this one, it will change as it gets older.

6: This is what happens when all the shells and bits won't digest, they throw it all up same as most birds will do.

And that better do it before you get too bored. Sony NEX-7 and the Canon FD 500 F/4.5L or the 800 F/5.6L

My favourite subjects Raj I've spent just over 2 1/2 years getting this close to them that they don't even worry about me now, so that's just for them that flickr account. I also set up perches for them in the water after storms destroyed what they did have. Dug those in so deep nothing will destroy the perches now. I'm totally in love with them Raj. The perches you see there are all under sea water at high tide.

Yeah the main site is in my sig as well, www.birdsinaction.com I also cover power boat racing around NZ which is the dead opposite of nature.
