Or you could just buy a used D800 for 1500, have these guys convert it for 400 Spencers Camera Photo Digital Camera Infrared IR Conversions Modifications and IR Photography Astro Photography Buy a remote to control timer in bulb mode and save yourself a cool 2 grand... just saying..

Yeahbut... then you won't have the "I'm the cool kid on the block 'cause I've got the latest toy' gold 'A' after the 0! That's gotta be worth at least $2K on it's own, right?

I almost think the 2K would be better spent on a trip to photograph northern lights and other cool celestial type events with your budget D800A ;0

I saw that the other day on NikonRumors
I'd jump at it if it was several thousand dollars less.
I was searching around as I actually was looking at the Canon IR models out there.
The resolution would be awesome to have though vs the Canons

See my post above you can get it for several thousand less.. Heck you could have your camera converted for $3400 less..
