Or you could just buy a used D800 for 1500, have these guys convert it for 400 Spencers Camera Photo Digital Camera Infrared IR Conversions Modifications and IR Photography Astro Photography Buy a remote to control timer in bulb mode and save yourself a cool 2 grand... just saying..

True but, if you're doing it to a second-hand D800, it won't be under warranty anyway. I think Nikon have discontinued the D800, as it's in the "archived" section of their site.

I'd jump at it if it was several thousand dollars less.
I was searching around as I actually was looking at the Canon IR models out there.

The resolution would be awesome to have though vs the Canons
