I kind of like the darkness... at least in the first one. But maybe that's just me. Thanks for the feedback.

I like them a little dark, but I also lean to the darker side!

I don't do portraits, but nothing here says dark and grungy. Well, maybe the exposure says dark. But grungy? She looks like she just got done shopping at a high end mall or going to a fancy restaurant or important event. Or something far, far from grungy.

The setting is grungy. As for her styling - the tank top is fine. The pants...borderline. Too clean, too fashionable, too form fitting. The shoes? Kardashian. Not grunge at all.

Now having said that, it comes off as a dark portrait (yes, underexposed, but even with better lighting, it would be a 'dark' photo), which is fine. Just not 'grunge.'

I like your thought process here, I like the concept. I prefer the second round with the exposure upped. But the shoes... just don't work with it. Even the pants... no. Dirty ripped up jeans might. Or a ratty blanket or something. She has the face & expression for it, but the clothes don't fit the scene.

Yeah, when I first saw her shoes I didn't like them either... but I wasn't gonna send her back to her apartment to get different ones. Oh well..
