Agreed.....and I bought these at a flea market for $1 each.
I suspect that many community colleges still teach a film photography class. This is contary to your question. But you will learn all the steps and have the benefit of an expert showing you how.
indeed, it would be intimidating to setup a darkroom without having ever used one. once you're in one for an hour with someone showing you what everything does, you're set.
The old book Light & Film, from the Time-Life Library of Photography series, shows EVERYTHING you'd ever want to know about B&W darkroom work, and is priced around $1.99 used at most on-line bookstores. It has superb illustrations! Clear text and good writing.
