Developing photographs at home

indeed, it would be intimidating to setup a darkroom without having ever used one. once you're in one for an hour with someone showing you what everything does, you're set.

The old book Light & Film, from the Time-Life Library of Photography series, shows EVERYTHING you'd ever want to know about B&W darkroom work, and is priced around $1.99 used at most on-line bookstores. It has superb illustrations! Clear text and good writing.
