What's new

Did Adobe LIE?

I've been subscribing to CC for a few years now. I never realized there was anything going on with Lightroom because I just keep it up to date even though I never use it.

Unless you're maniacally buying new gear, get the standalone LR6, take the last update and hold. Adobe's competition presently offers lots of options and there are bound to be even more when/if you add new cameras/lenses to the shelf down the line.

I’m heavily leaning towards investing in capture one at this point. I’ve bwwn doing a lot of research on it and I’m really liking the looks of it.

Going to wait until I replace my computer in a few months and then give it a go

Those who updated, are you still seeing 2012 as the current processing method? the notes for the update say it should be "Process Version 4 (Current) under Camera Calibration"

I'm also not seeing the two new color and luminance masking...

Nope, mine shows the new release. On another note, though, has anyone experienced REALLY LONG load times when opening PS?

I dont think I did the correct new verison. the release notes linked to the newest update, not the version I installed.

Idk what yall did, but mine is way faster now since the update.

Over the last couple of updates LR & PS seems to have gotten slower to boot. After they're up, I haven't noted any significant increase in speed.

@DGMPhotography Seriously, you disagree with my statement?????? Do you somehow have a camera over my shoulder to be able to tell how fast or slow any program loads on my computer? Have you somehow verified that there are no differences in our processors, memory, etc.??? I made a statement based on the way my experience with the product over the past year, I made no disparaging comments about your experiences, but yet you seemed to find the need to mark disagree on my comment, rather than expand on your own findings. Kinda of a cheap shot don't you think?

Tell me how you really feel o_O

I updated Photoshop and Lightroom today. Didn't have time to open them up. Flew to DC (Dulles) and then had to drive to Batimore.

Update to the Lightroom experience. Saturday I updated to the new version of LR. In my previous comments I stated that it was extremely slow on booting. That continued to be an issue up till today. This morning I had an alert that there was an update waiting for LR. I installed that update, then open LR. It booted so fast that I almost thought something was wrong!!! Wow, what a change. Anyone else added the latest update????
