Diffusion in the wind

Who has some suggestions for diffusion of a strobe in the wind? Scrims/diffusion panels are pretty much out- you might as well be using a sail.

I saw somewhere an umbrella that had a back cone on it so that the whole thing was inclosed. It cut down on the wind catching it.

Not sure where it was...

I've had success with an octa and a **** load of sandbags. I once saw Joe McNally hold up an octa in the desert by putting it on a manfroto tripod (not sure what model) with a magic arm connecting the two. It was able to withstand REALLY brisk winds.

Just an idea - I know little or nothing about lighting..one of those windbreaks, people used to take to the beach...with the four stakes through the fabric. Placed upwind of your set-up.
