Digital camera?

I'm looking to buy a digital camera. I'm really just looking for something to use for snapshots and to take on vacations and things like that, so I'm not always lugging around my Nikon N80. I really don't want to spend more than $400. Does anyone have any advice on brands and models I should look at? I've been looking into Nikon and Olympus but I want to see if anyone can recommend anything specific.

if you want one with manual options for cheaper than the slr's, go with the Canon A70 or Canon A80, 3 and 4 MP respectivly. Or if you just want a simple point and shoot, easy to use party camera, pick up an Olympus Stylus 300, or you could go with the 400 model also, again they are 3 and 4 MP

The Canon A80 is really quite lovely, but if you want something really sturdy and compact - Canon S400.
