Dinner Time

[shelby16]

Okay, I'm at it again!! Here I am clueless to what type of bird this is, but it was BEAUTIFUL. From far away I thought it was a duck. Totally not a duck. hahaha. He was catching his dinner in my backyard!
C&C is always appreciated. Let me know what you think. Took these at nighttime, (so that's why it's a little dark, I couldn't lighten it without washing the background out) with my Nikon D5100 55-300mm lens.

GR! I don't know why TPF keeps attaching photos for me. D: Just ignore the one attached that was before editing.

I don't mind then being a little bark as much the lack of sharp focus bothers me. There is also some issues with chromatic aberration.

That looks like a black night crowned heron. But not sure about the stripe on the face. Hmmmm??

Haha, thanks for trying. I'm so curious, because I really loved the look of this bird!

I would vote for a black crowned night heron also. I always try to expose the bird properly. If you end up blowing the background that can be ok, sometimes you can bring it back in post...

Thanks for the tip !! I'll play with it tomorrow and repost a pic!
