Do you get sunburn?

I spent three days at the racetrack and I get pretty bad sunburn around my mouth, jaw, and neck. This is the third times, and it is painful and irritated. Lesson learned, I will apply a lot of sun block for sure!

I usually don't. I can't remember the last time I had a sunburn. If I burn it's not bad, only lasts a day and then turns into a tan.

The worst I got it this summer was a little bit of pealing (no actual burn or pain or anything). And I THINK the only reason I pealed was because I got a massage soon after we had gone cliff jumping and spent all day outside... so all the rubbing on my shoulders, I think is was caused the pealing to start.

I'm usually not too bad, though I've had to start wearing a full-brim hat -- not so much in the way of natural cover up there anymore...lol. The hat helps a lot with my ears & neck. Earlier this month, I made the mistake of wearing sandals to the track -- I hit my legs w/ sunscreen, but missed my feet. Oops. Saturday was bad; Sunday got worse, even with sunscreen.

Also, I will freely admit to substituting "peak" for "peek", all the g**d*** time. NOT because I don't know the difference. But simply because my brain apparently likes the aesthetic of "peak" vs. "peek", and when I'm not paying attention, that's what it just defaults to.

I just tweeted, about 48 hours ago, about the fact that I had just written an entire blog post, using the word "peak" several times throughout, and it wasn't until I went to type out the last "peak" that I went, "F***." and had to go back through and fix my mistake throughout.

I caught it myself. No one had to point it out... yet I didn't catch it until I did it several times... because. I dunno why.

There are a few words in the English language that I am FULLY well aware of the differences in spelling, and yet I will always default to one or the other for whatever reason, if I'm really not thinking about it.

Chord vs. cord, is another one that I know the difference between, yet struggle with on a regular basis. I want everything to be a "chord".

I think that one comes with having been a musician for so long.

My favorite is a Facebook friend of mine...she's about your age...she wears high heals all the time. All of her many posts about this pair of heals, or that pair of heals...Ugggh! her mother is constantly corecting her grammar on Facebook. Amusing.

There are some odd words we use. Per se is one....often incorrectly written as per say. There is peak, peek, and pique. When a new product is compelling and priced right, it will often pique the interest of potential customers.

First, no, I rarely get sunburns. Like Emily, I've got olive skin (don't know about hers but mine is 100% Portuguese olive.) No history whatsoever of skin cancer on either mother's or father's side. My father worked outside and spent most of his life outdoors well before the years of sunblock and I don't remember ever seeing him with a sunburn. And I take after my father a lot - both in physical attributes and personality.

Do you get sunburn?

yes I do.

I have very sensitive skin and what's a normal tan for everyone else, for me is something I have to achieve very carefully and I'll probably get some color on my skin when the summer is over. And for cremes and lotions and such, I can use just home made ointments and oils.


As for English grammar... I'm lost...

I wore a wide brim bonnie hat. It helps around at noon time. But around 4 in the evening as the sun descending to the horizon, the angle from the sun ray hits my mouth. I started to feel my drying, and now my skin is flaky. I must have sensitive skin.
