I made the dress.

I know it's crazy, right? Hahahaha

Believe it or not though... I used to do a lot of that.

I was a big 4H-er as a kid.

I did sewing, cross-stitching, doll-making, ceramics, horseback riding, archery, aaaaaaaand I feel like there's one I'm forgetting. But I can't remember what it was now.

I realized though, as I was making that dress, that it was actually super therapeutic and I really enjoyed it. I need to find a sewing mannequin, but I'm going to start designing and making a bunch of dresses for shoots after I get a hold of one.

Very cool. Love the contrast between the hair, skin and dress. I'd be tempted to crack the steam iron out and attack the creases in that backdrop though lol.

Okay sue... This dress is on my craft list too. How hard was it [emoji12]. Love the lighting on this but I think the wrinkle backdrop takes away from he soft feel of the light + dress

I actually wished there was *more* texture to it, haha.

It was a canvas we found laying around the studio. I didn't feel like shooting on white *again*, so we went digging. I actually tried to wrinkle it *more*, but it wasn't taking.

Hahaha, no. I was just excited I was finally getting to work with Elizabeth and that she wasn't awkward in front of the camera.

And I never once claimed to have *designed* the dress. I just said I *made* it. :sexywink:

The NEXT one I'm planning... THAT one I designed... but THAT one will 100% require a mannequin, or it's not going to work.

I just can't decide if I want it to be black or red........

Also Paige, the fact that it is blue is just a coincidence, haha.

I knew I wanted to make that dress for a shoot coming up, but I wasn't sure who I was going to make it for, and when I decided it was Elizabeth, we decided that the blue matched her skin tone over the other colors I was considering. :allteeth:

Also, I'm not smoothing it out. If I didn't want the texture, I wouldn't have used it, haha. You're allowed to not like it, that's fine... but I'm not smoothing it. Haha.

I already knew people would have something to say about it when we decided to use it, let alone when I uploaded the image. :sexywink:

Thud. Sorry Emily. Another reference to mermaid Ariel and her "fishy" tail. The contrast of Elizabeth's red (and plentiful) hair and the aquamarine blue of the dress is rather strong. Also perhaps because each of my daughters had their own "Ariel" for the longest time, and would dress them with all kinds of ballerina dresses and make up all kinds of stories to "explain" to me why a tutu really does belong on a mermaid. Guess your image gave me a flashback to those times.
