Favorite Camera

What is your favorite Camera that you have ever owned?

To say first things first, mine was the Nikon d5000 with the stock 18-55 lens and 55-200 lens. I got some amazing photos with it! At least until it got stolen. :'(

I would have to say it was my Canon TLb, only because it was my first "real" camera that I bought and learned on. I think I paid $50.00 for it. After that, probably the FTb, and then my 5D...

Favorite camera I've *ever* owned?

The NEXT one.

I've thoroughly enjoyed using every camera I've ever owned; I enjoyed them so much that I still have them, all of them except my OM-10. I guess I'd say my favorite is my current camera, the D7000. There'd be a tie for second place between my Pentax K1000 and my little six-20 Brownie Junior. The Pentax was just a workhorse. I got it right after I'd had the OM-10, which was in the repair shop more often than not. By comparison that Pentax just "took a lickin' and kept on tickin'." In the past few years, I've bought a few Nikon film cameras to play with (because I could never afford Nikon back in the day!), but when I get in a mood to shoot some film, it's usually the Pentax that comes down off the shelf.

The Brownie Junior probably doesn't even work anymore, it's been so long since I tried to use it--but it ranks as one of my all-time favorites because it belonged to my grandfather. It was the camera he took with him when he spent the better part of two decades working in South America and the Azores. He died before I was born, so his photos and his writings are the only way I have to "know" who he was. My mom gave me his camera when I was probably about 11, and it was with that camera that I fell in love with photography.

Come to think of it, I guess that little Brownie Jr. is my favorite.

The Pentax MX I had from the mid-seventies to the late eighties. Basic manual film SLR (though not as basic as the K1000). It was compact and could fit in a winter coat pocket with the 40/2.8 lens on it. I put more B&W film through that camera than I can believe at this point (and some color as well). After it died I had a couple of Pentax automatic SLR's (although still without autofocus!!) but they were never the same to me.

I'd have to saw my first camera. A Nikon something that I shot b&w film with and developed my passion for the darkroom. I wish I still had access to one!

Digital-wise my favorite is my current camera, the NEX7. Because of its size, I have it with me more often, and the best camera is the one that gets used the most!

My little D5100, the one I currently own. Back in the day I shot some pretty high end 35 mm equipment - but due to circumstance I was forced to sell it all off quite a few years ago. Never really thought I'd get back into photography again, until I got a wild hair lodged someplace that a wild hair just really shouldn't get stuck and thought what the heck and bought the 5100. I guess in a weird way it sort of reminded me of a part of myself that i had forgotten. Plus it dislodged that wild hair quite effectively - sadly however my medical insurance is still refusing to pay on that claim.. lol
