Feedback - Child & Baby Photography

I would really appreciate feedback on my photos (there are tons more where these came from!) - these are of my son. I am making the move from being a (serious) photo enthusiast to a (semi) professional photographer and can use all of the constructive criticism you have so I can be the best I can be...

You are off to a good start, generally I like your images, but I find the first one a bit too centered,

One thing I would suggest is to try to shoot someone else's child, pick someone you know. But tell then to act as a client.
Set a time and meet to do a shoot, stick to what you would offer as a standard package.

The reason I say to do this is it is much different to photograph a child that is not yours. I would love to see what you come up with from just the one session.

I think all three of these photos are good. But I also agree that you should try photographing other children. You know your child well but all children are different and some are not so cooperative! If you want to go into business I believe it is really invaluable to work with some other children first. It will also add some much needed variety to your portfolio. Good Luck with your business and would love to see the results when you take some more pics!

First off, your son is a cutie! On the first one, I wouldnt have cut off the top of his head. And I like the second shot, but the sun on the right corner is a little bit bright, and imo catches my eye before the baby.

1: I like that you chopped off his head, but crop in a little closer so there is less space under his chin and move him slightly left as he he is looking to the right , 2 is cute and 3 is adorable, eye contact with the camera would have made it better and where is his shoes? Adorable little guy!!
