Few for C&C, lighting tips please.

I am have continued playing with my new lighting (best way to learn is try) and I actually think I am going backwards. I am not sure what is going wrong. C&C on lighting please, I realize I missed focus on several before anyone points it out.

This one the white balance looks off, not sure what I did different honestly.

The first ones look pretty good. Are you working with just one light here? You definitely need something to the left side of the image whether it's a lower powered light or a reflector especially in the last one. The white balance in that one is pretty off too.
Is it the white background bugging you? White is the hardest to possibly shoot. You need to have two stops more light just on the background to get it to WHITE WHITE than you do on the subjects, so you need lights for both.

I was shooting with two lights, one 24" soft box camera right, and a 42" umbrella camera left but turned way down (just a tiny bit of fill). Thanks for the tip about lighting the backdrop. How would you suggest lighting it? The remaining lights I have are speedlights and a couple more umbrellas.

I'd probably put the monolights on the backdrop and the speedlights on the kids. You need more power on the background than you will on the subjects.
You'll need to place the kids 4 or 5 feet in front of the backdrop. You have them too close as it is.

I rotated the images earlier when downloading them, (for some reason before that the were distorted at download) I never thought about photobucket rotating them here .

What light modifier would you suggest lighting the background with? If I use the strobes on the background that leaves me with a 40" umbrella on the Speedlight for lighting the subjects,

Best practice, what would your light setup be here?
