2 and 3 have horrible backgrounds. The branches are ugly and distracting in those frames. #4 as well, ugly background. I DO however like the "scene you set" in shot #7, with the OOF foreground branches and the messy, tangled background of winter-time trees. She's a very attractive woman, so for many people it'd be somewhat easy to overlook the jarring, hashy OOF tree limbs in some of the shots. Your processing and color palette looks very nice! Clean, crisp, attractive, consistent. The branches sprouting out of her head in frame #2...awful. And #5, yes it's a horizontal, and it's a very weak, unattractive composition. She's hacked off, mid-arm, mid-waist, and there's a tree trunk in the center of the frame...it's a weak composition that does nothing well. I do like late afternoon sunlight used directly, as you did in shot #4--I LIKE that look, and always have, as long as the subject could avoid looking too squinty, and in the winter time, that's pretty easy, since the sun is weak, even though it's direct. I do not like the OOF tree limbs in the upper left corner though in shot #4...very distracting. The rest of the background is well-controlled, but the upper left corner has a very active, strong, diagonal OOF branch in it, which ruins the shot for me. Maybe you will say you "wanted it that way" r that you like it that way, or that it is "part of a set" that has lots of leafless,winter-time branches in it. Her last name being Winter or Winters or whatever and all, you know?
You got a lot of "ooohs!" and "ahh's!" here---pretty, twenty-something redheads shot in warm lighting conditions will get those kind of "ooohs!" and "ahh's" and vaguely pervy sighs from collectives filled with middle aged white men. Lotsa' help those kind of "C&C's" are!!!! They really will help you up your game! The best time to self-evaluate these will probably be six months to a year from today's date. At that time your opinions of them will likely be somewhat different than it is today. It's often very difficult to self-evaluate work IMMEDIATELY upon finishing the set up...seeing so many similar frames, implementing so many similar processing fecisions, etc...tends to cause a bit of tunnel-vison.
