I have a few photos I took today, first time outside with the 60d:

4 A little more post processing here to "cool" it down but I feel it took away the sunset look

None of your photos did anything for me, Although my favorite of the bunch was #4, maybe you should try something other than laqndscape photos. Take my C&C lightly as I am not much mor experienced than you

I like the 1st & 4th ones the best. I noticed the highway signs were for I35. These wouldn't happen to have been photographed in Minnesota by chance. If so, I have relatives in Eastern and Southwestern Minnesota.

I like 1 and 4 - #1 the best, but 2, 3 and 5 do nothing for me. Just one point to think about: these are not what I would call traditional landscapes, rather they are what a lot of folks, me included, call cityscapes. Nothing wrong with calling them landscapes, they just are not what a lot of people expect when you think of "landscapes". The one thing that struck me was that they are very "brown", but then that is the colour of a lot of "landscapes" this time of year. My 0.02¢ FWIW.

Cheers,

WesternGuy

I was on vacation last week, and I had plenty of opportunities to get cityscapes like this, but I knew the lack of color would result in photos like this. I also have a 60D. What I did was get out the tripod and take them after the sun went down:

#1 has Duluth, MN in the foreground while Superior, WI is in the background and #5 was taken in MN but the background is Superior, WI and its airport

Thanks for the comments everyone. This time of year isn't the prettiest, everything is dead and dry before the snow arrives.

I like the foreground in #5 but the composition isn't very interesting and the background isn't much to look at either. Good start!
