Hi, I'm Ranger, I have been interested in Photography for about a year now, but Christmas Day was the first time I was able to use a DSLR. (I unwrapped the camera that morning.) Previously I had been using a Sony Cybershot, which took great photos, but was limited in what it could do. The DSLR that I got is actually one of Sony’s new DSLT (Single-Lens Translucent) the a33. Along with the kit lens I also got a Sony DT 55-200mm f/4-5.6 lens.

Here are a few of the pictures I took that afternoon. They are mostly portrait type shots; it was my cousin’s baby’s first Christmas. I was shooting using the scene “Portrait”, I haven’t yet figured out how to use the P, A, S, or M modes. I really enjoyed using the telephoto lens, because it allowed me to get close up shots of my family, without out actually being physically close. One of the problems I was having was red eye, I was able to fix that issue wit some PP in PS, but I would still like to know how to limit it when using the built in flash. So without further a do here are some of the pictures I took, I would love some C&C. :)

Thanks for you help.

Do you have the red eye turned on in the camera? If you do try it with it off. On my T1i i have never had teh red eye turned on and never get a shot with red eye.

Nice camera

I think pop-up flash is better than a blurry picture. And it can also be used with OCF for fill just fine if you bring down the FE a stop or two.

Enjoy your new camera Ranger!!

Nice shots =)..Liked them all except for the second one, I think it's not focused enough
