First Macro in a While: Grasshopper

I haven't shot any little things in a while so we went out for a walk and I looked for something to shoot.
This was my willing subject!
I'm iffy on how dark the shadows are...

Well, I think they both look pretty good, but I am a noob. I tend to see photos in a visual sense rather than a detailed technical sense. I have always been a fan of macro, I cannot wait to get my first dedicated macro lens. Good work!
