Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
Hey everyone, so yesterday I went out with a friend and had my first maternity session. Of course I did it for FREE since I'm still learning. So I thought I'd get some C&C on them. I really appreciate everyone's honest opinions, good and bad so I can learn from my mistakes. THanks in advanced, enjoy!!!

Were the last two shot at 1.8? Cause the dof is really shallow, and the whole image seems soft. The only one i really think has potential is the second one, but then again, i know little about maternity photo's.

Hmm I think two is not that great, selective coloring ugh, the tattoo is distracting and why is she stripping her jean shorts off?

C&C per req: They're a start, but definitely with room for improvement.

1. NOT a fan of the angle, but that's a personal taste. This one had potential, but you didn't quite get the crop right IMO. You've got some hair image right which looks out of place, and a lot of empty space image left. The whites in the shirt are pretty good, but I think this one should be left in colour to provide a contrast with the US image.

2. Miss Cream nailed this one.

3. The whites in her top are almost totally blown and your DoF is too shallow; the shoes are soft. The difference between an okay picture and a great photograph is often the background. In this image the background is wayyyyyyyy too busy and distracting. Go for something soft, monotone and with little or no apparent detail (green hedge?).

4. Blown highlights; REALLY blown highlights. Vinyl siding is NOT a photographic background!

5. Again, you've lost almost all detail in the shirt. Always discuss clothing choices with clients. Whites and blacks are best avoided whenever possible, and alway, always, ALWAYS, make sure that they don't wear something that contrasts so strongly with something else (dark blue denim shorts, white shirt).

Just my $00.02 worth - your mileage may vary.

No the last two shots were edited in PS to make the background a little softer.

She liked the selective coloring, so I guess it just depends on the person. She had two tattoo's on her belly the other side was a big tattoo. So she picked to do this side. And as for her jeans, she is not stripping. Its to show her pregnancy, I should of fixed her shorts though. Thanks for your CC!

Thanks for your very descriptive 2cents on all my pictures. I greatly appreciate it and I will take what you said and apply it next time I do another maternity shoot.
