I'm still sorta new to this whole portrait photography stuff. I believe I did well on these photos, well at least she loved the outcome. I know one thing for sure is that this shoot wasn't easy for me. It was pitch black outside on a cliff with no moonlight. I had to resort to my jeep lights to light her up a bit just so I could focus. My D7000 and 50mm 1.8D had trouble. I cancelled out the ambient light with a higher shutter speed than I would normally use in such low light.

Two strobes were used, one in front to her right and one behind giving the rim light. The main light was set to 1/32 w/softbox while the rim light was set to 1/128 bare bulb. There wasn't as much city light in the back light I wanted because of the location. Next time we are heading downtown. I had to photoshop out some bushed and minor touch ups using lightroom 4.

She did the rest in regards to posing and such. I didn't have to give a single direction. Excellent and wonderful model.

Please let me know how I did so that I can improve for future shoots.

Well I guess that I could have removed those lights in the background.
