First post - Building in San Francisco

Adrien; the building in black and white is fine, but when photographing buildings, one usually will attempt to get more of the building in the shot. For instance; we do not see the top very well here. If you are going to do building details, then take only details. Here we have missed most of the building.

I do like the vertical better. There is obviously some perspective distortion here = going to get it from this close of a position to the building. But I don't mind it. I like that the front left corner is parallel (almost) to the edge of the frame. I would like to see just a little more of the building around the corner to the left.

Well, there are two schools of representing real world: very exactly with, as AA said, full respect to forms already created, be it by nature or by a human. Or we can dispense with this documentary exactness and go free from rules and from authorities. Some other place and maybe later AA said also, that people suffer " maestro syndrome" where only one way is the only right way.
I don't think Adrien was actually taking picture of that building, he took picture of the impression the structure made on him. In this case angle and detail have not that much meaning. I like it in both orientations.
