Hi there! This is my first try to take pics at a traditional folk festival here at Nuoro, Italy with my dslr camera
Canon 550D+ef 17-40L. Any critique are welcome...

Re; the first shot. It is not well framed, imo, there is lots of space in back of her head and less in front.
She has an almost orange color to her complexion that looks like over-saturation with several blown out spots on her face and a halo around her head.
Has this been heavily post-processed?

Miti,

It is only my opinion; take everything you read here with a grain of salt.
It is a difficult path to take good pictures, once you graduate from taking what a P&S gives you.
There is so much to learn at once.
Don't be discouraged.
You live in a wonderful area of the world for photos and so you are very lucky that way.
Stick with it and you will get the skills quickly.
