So I finally have my first DSLR, a Canon T3i. Shot this barn which is right across the street from me. Originally shot the entire barn but thought it didn't look so good, so made the crop below. Unfortunately the sky was bland too. So, rip it up and tell me all the things I've done wrong.

Actually.. I like it! Mind if I play with it?

hmmm.. I like this too (but do prefer your original!) Playing with the NIK Silver Efex Pro...

Lol Charlie are we addicted to those plugins? Not use to being around much farmland, but nice photo. It has an erie mood it, like a zombie film. The calm before the storm.

I like it too! Do you have lr? You can add blue and that might help with the skys.

hahaha.. just been playing with it! I have always loved B&W.. and have seriously considered setting up another darkroom, and picking up a film body again. But I am finding that what I have does what I want.. if I play with it enough. Still learning the best way to achieve that....

No, no Light Room, I don't even have Photoshop. Just Paint Shop Pro 8.

I did colorize the sky blue as the original shoot was barely blue at all. I also cloned out a power pole, power lines, a street sign and the edge of a small building on the right.

Here's a resize of the entire original shot with zero processing so you can see what I mean:
