Can others edit my Photos
Photos NOT OK to edit
Hello, i have been looking for my first SLR and i think i have narrowed it down to 2, but open to other camera options as well.
The cameras i'm considering are the

1) Nikon D5000
2) Canon EOS Rebel T2i

What i will be shooting most.
1) Soccer matches, indoor, outdoor, and outdoor at night under the lights. Fast action

2) Close up photos of small objects, things like matchbox cars, and other collectables.

Like mentioned, i am open to other camera options. I would also like to here about other lens and flash options to help with my photo subjects.

Thank you, Carlos

I was in the same position as you last month, but I was in between the d3100 and the d5000 I decided on the d3100 due to better video ( to be honest I have neve used it so not a correct decision) the d3100 also came with 2 lenses 18-55 (f 3.5-5.6) and a 55-200 (f 4.5-5.6) and it was cheaper. I love my new camera it goes with me everywhere but there is so much more to learn! One thing I have also got with my new camera is understanding exposure by Bryan Peterson it has helped me to better understand what my camera can do and why it was doing it.

Good luck with you choice I'm sure you will love whatever you get.

Thank you, i will take a better look at the D3100. It will save me some mone yand maybe i can get a better lens, and still be within budget.

Indoor sports and outdoor sports under the lights require high ISO and fast lenses (wide maximum aperture, like f/2.8 at least).

Kit lenses are to slow, unless you use strobed lighting (flash) but the built-in flash unit doesn't really have enough power.

For field sports like soccer you will need reach too(telephoto/magnification).

A good combination would be the Nikon D7000 16.2MP DX-Format CMOS Digital SLR with 3.0-Inch LCD (Body Only) , the Nikon 80-200mm f/2.8D ED AF Zoom Nikkor Lens for Nikon Digital SLR Cameras, and the Nikon 24-85mm f/2.8-4.0D IF AF Zoom Nikkor Lens for Nikon Digital SLR Cameras.

The 24-85 also has a 1:2 macro capability from 35 mm to 85 mm.

That may be out of your budget, but is about the minimum I can suggest for making good indoor and outdoor under-the-lights sports photos.

I would go with the T2i. Its much fresher/up to date and I dont know if there any rumors to replace the nikon d5000 anytime soon.
