Can others edit my Photos
Photos NOT OK to edit
I just missed the Osprey pull this fish out of a river, I know it isn't a good shot due to it being a serious crop from about 100 yards but any idea what kind of fish that is ???

does the river dump into the ocean? could it be a gray mullet?

edit never mind that's not a tropical fish haha

Hard to make out. What kind of water was this? Fresh, salt, brackish?

:lmao: without a good visual it's hard to tell. Small Bluefish maybe assuming it's salt water but it could be something entirely different.

The anal fin is blocked by foliage, but if it's freshwater, the lake whitefish looks to have the correct pectoral fins and tail shape and head shape. Overall coloration seems consistent with whitefish as well, from what I can see. When identifying fish, sometimes ONE or TWO fin positions/shapes make it EASY to tell what a species is. If you have the ID chart and a pic or two, the ID can usually be made based on fin shape/position/fin count.

New England, Freshwater Fish Species, Bass, Perch, Pickerel

This is actually a small river-stream that empties into a small lake. But around here one lake feeds into the next lake and so on and so on, not quite Minnesota but close to it ;)

The red circle is where I live, the river connects Lower Burrage to the West Lake

Looks like a pike to me.

Good point in terms of overall body shape it is sort of like a pike; it ALSO looks, generically, like chain pickerel, EXCEPT for the placement of the pectoral fins on the body...that is the main feature I was looking at, along with the tail's shape/degree of forkedness/size in relation to body, and also, the overall "silvery" color makes me think whitefish. But yeah, the generic body shape is pike- or pickerel-like....but I think the pectoral fin placement rules out the pike-like fishes.

This is great, now I have an idea where to land my helicopter.:lmao:

Agreed on the body shape but the pickerel here are bright green, I took this shot a few hundred yards away from there just a few days earlier. Just a couple there fishing so I took a shot for them and gave them the link to my web site so they could download it.

I can zoom in on the fish the Osprey has, it is silver on the sides. No markings at all, i really think whitefish.
