what is the point of the focus distance switch on the side of the lens. wouldnt it make sense to leave it on 1.2m-infinite instead of 3m-infinite?

Having multiple limiters keeps focus fast and helps prevent hunting (focusing in and out, hunting for your AF spot). Having multiple settings is nice because you can leave it on full for shooting near or far, or limit to just far so it focuses on that car 100ft away from you, and not the fence that's 8 feet in front of you.

thank you, makes sense. i figured it would help with speed but never thought about preventing focusing on close stuff.
