Fuji S2 Pro - gone lithium-less?!

My S2 has suddenly decided to only work when I take out the lithium batteries (so it's only running on 4 AAs...) It wsn't workingat all so I replaced batteries and still nothing... then my husband was screwing around with it and took OUT the lithiums ans turned it on- ans VIOLA!! Pictures!! :shock:

Anyone ever experienced this? What has possessed my camera?

Sounds like the batteries are running at a power rating incompatible with the camera. Perhaps try discharging them by running flat in a walkman or something and then re-charging them and have another go?

I don't use rechargeable AAs- I use Duracell- actually Duracell lithiums too...

but was a good theory.
