Fujifilm Does It Again!

Mass producing apparent niche products that eventually find wider markets seems a Fuji specialty.

If you say so.

When does Fujifilm finally their GFX 100S Monochrome ?

The way I read it, videos you take are uploaded to a website.
'The camera can then print a photo with a QR code on it, which, when scanned, takes the viewer to a webpage to view the whole clip.'
Does one, by any chance, have to pay a monthly subscription for the web pages? I can't see them doing it for free.
With a number of big software companies moving their products online, obliging users to pay hefty subscriptions to continue using their products, and mobile 'phone companies (at least in the UK) converting 'pay as you go' to 'pay a minimum monthly subscription' it will come as no surprise to me if camera companies try the same trick.
Perhaps you will be able to download your stuff to your computer - but the article is silent on that.
And 15 second video clips? Sounds like the product is specifically designed for TikTok users. Is Fuji thinking of going into competition?
But when all is said and done the camera is not really doing much more than what you can already do on a decent mobile 'phone. People might be tempted to buy one for pose value but once the novelty has worn off I suspect they will mostly be relegated to the back of a cupboard or eBay.

That’s a fair read, honestly. The article glosses over the big question - who’s hosting those videos and for how long? If there’s a cloud component, a subscription wouldn’t be shocking at all these days.

Cute toy camera, 5MP / 1080p with high compression on the video. For $400 if someone wants to have some fun, that's fine. After that and I'm not being all picky about features or quality, it's not very interesting.

I owned the Fuji 3D camera, FinePix Real 3D W2, used. It was disappointing because of the small sensor, even at 10MP the images were soft and over compressed. I guess that's a Fuji thing? It went back on eBay after a short time. Good fun, but not Good Enough. 3D is fun, but there's not much of a demand. Red/Blue glasses needed.
