Weather was a little nicer, so went out for a while this afternoon.

Interesting shots! We rarely see them up in trees around here.
 
This guy appears huge. How big was he? :)

Very nice. I like the first one best of the bunch. I am curious as to whether or not you used a bit of fill flash, or was the sun behind you?

I am familiar with some of their "hangouts, so I am wondering where on the island did you find this one at this time of year?

Sun was perfect - behind me and quite low. The last one was after the low cloud started to move back in. These were taken at Ladysmith waterfront. There is a small rookery only a short distance away where they will gather to nest in the early spring. There has been as many as three hanging out here for the last 8 or 10 days.
 
Thanks all. I hope they hang around awhile so I can get more shots and hopefully some in flights.
