FYI, I've found the gimbal/tripod setup useful only on limited circumstances.
If you are shooting from a distance and the subject matter moves across the field of view without much height.
As a subject gets higher you tilt the camera more upwards, which requires you to get down lower to keep viewing the viewfinder or LCD screen. If you have a tilt swivel LCD screen that is used instead of the viewfinder then you can use more up/down with a gimbal.
If you use the viewfinder all the time (which I mostly use it) then the gimbal only works in certain situations.
Also, if you move around a lot, you'll have to move around a tripod setup.
You could also use a monopod for more flexibility. But in my situation lifting up a gimbal/monopod to get a subject passing overhead is a problem.
So think about how you plan on using a Gimbal tripod/monopod setup too.
