Anyone suggest a gimble head for BIF
I've seen others using a manfrotto 393, but don't know how good these are
It's to use with Nikon d500 and nikon 200-500.
Thanks

I am surprised you didn't get a quicker answer as this is a hot topic for Birder's. IMHO, you get what you pay for with gimbals. Stay away from the $100 units. Many report they have to take them apart, clean out the sticky grease, use a Dremel tool to smooth out tool marks, chase threads, re-lube then put them back together and they still don't like the motion. Steve Perry, a well respected wildlife photographer and author, and th author of the book "Secrets to Stunning Wildlife Photography", recommends a Wimberley gimbal: https://www.amazon.com/Wimberley-WH...48650141&sr=8-2&keywords=wimberly+gimbal+head for $595. I personally use a Sirui carbon fiber gimbal that goes with my portable Sirui carbon fiber tripod: https://www.amazon.com/d/Camera-Tri...=1548650255&sr=8-3&keywords=sirui+gimbal+head . Once you've got a good one, your keep rate for BIF will go up significantly.

I have the same camera/lens combo. I learned long ago to buy once so I chose the Wimberley WH-200 II. It is perfect for my setup. My setup allows me to switch between my RRS tripod legs and Sirui monopod. It makes getting on target effortless.
